Kirsten Smith — Founder

The business was founded by Kirsten Smith, a Chartered Governance Professional and experienced Company Secretary who has worked across not-for-profit, private, and listed environments. Governance in Focus was established to provide practical, well-grounded governance tools that reflect how boards actually operate, not how textbooks suggest they should.

Kirsten's advice comes from the boardroom, not just the consulting room. Alongside her advisory practice, she has chaired two not-for-profit boards, currently chairs a Board Governance Committee, and serves as Deputy Chair of another organisation.
